Riverside Junior School occupies an enviable position right beside the River Calder and next to Calder Park playground. With large, airy classrooms and a playground big enough for the longest of legs to stretch themselves, we pride ourselves on our diverse families and children.

We are an inclusive school and attract families far and wide due to our brilliant support programmes for children with social, emotional or special educational needs.

We have forged great relationships with our local community, for example the Little Theatre directly opposite the school, where every year we perform our Christmas and Year 6 musicals on an actual stage.

On top of this, children in Years 3 and 4 experience learning to play an instrument, which we feel it’s our privilege to offer, as well as in Years 5 and 6 where we work in an HX7 partnership so that the children have lots of opportunities to push themselves in sporting competitions and events against other schools.
